The basic requirements to be a living donor are:
Blood type is not a consideration at this point.
If you want to be considered as a candidate, please register at Livingdonorreg.upmc.com.
As shown in the screen shot from UPMC, you need to know the following information:
The organ is "Liver"
Donate to "Donation to specific Individual"
Currently a UPMC patient? "Yes"
Adult or child? "Adult"
Recipient Name "Jennifer Ireland"
*You do not have to include your insurance information to submit the registration.
Registering/volunteering is completely anonymous. We will not know who has or has not registered. There is absolutely no obligation. It's a big decision, and once registered, the medical team will explain every detail and answer all questions.
There is no commitment until you have been evaluated and fully understand what the procedure involves.
Jenny's insurance covers all medical costs.
