On October 29th I recieved the gift of life - given to me by an anonymous, altruistic donor.
My heart is so full of gratitutde and overwhelmed by this courageous and selfless act. My angel donor is an amazing woman who had it in her heart to save the life of a complete stranger in response to a yard sign. Incredible! (We met for the first time in pre-op.)
We are so very grateful to her and her family. This is not a surgery to go at alone. So we thank our entire angel donor family.
I hope if you hear about our story that it will bring some joy to your heart to know that there are amazingly good people out there and that it will also inspire you to look for opportunities to provide aid to others in need.
I’m Jenny Ireland and I’m in need of a liver transplant. Finding a living donor is my best option for saving my life. Could you be my match?
Liver disease originates in various ways and can take on many different paths and timelines from manageable fatty liver disease to stage 4 cirrhosis. Regardless, the liver performs some of the most important functions in the body and a compromised liver can be fatal.
